The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia strongly condemns hate speech in our community and throughout the world. When anti-Semitic hate speech was expressed by Temple University Professor Marc Lamont Hill, we immediately took action with national and local partners. We have and will continue to condemn comments that reject the state of Israel and the Jewish connection to our homeland.

25 Tons of Caring: High Holiday Food Drive & Sort Success

Every fall, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s High Holiday food drive and food sort brings our communities together in so many ways. This year, it even brought out a CBS3 News crew!

Our October 2017 food drive collected an amazing 50,000 pounds of nourishing food. But the tzedakah didn’t stop there, because on October 30th nearly 150 members of the Jewish Federation’s Women’s Philanthropy group set aside their Monday mornings to come to the SHARE Food Program’s warehouse and sort the food — a necessary task before it can be delivered to our five Mitzvah Food Pantries. Many volunteers brought family and friends to share the meaningful and fun experience. The donated, sorted food will now supplement client food orders for four entire months.
