Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia seeks a Director of our Jewish Life and Learning Department. The Director works with a staff of four to build and maintain relationships on behalf of Jewish Federation with existing and potential providers of Jewish life and learning programs in the Greater Philadelphia area, in Israel and in global Jewish communities. The Director of Jewish Life and Learning evaluates the Jewish landscape, makes recommendations of best practices and about programs that might be funded by Jewish Federation, and works with Jewish Federation’s research team to evaluate the impact of internal and external Jewish life and learning programs.
Work closely with Jewish Life and Learning Commission (a lay committee) chair(s) and the volunteers who constitute the Commission.
Supervise Jewish Life and Learning staff.
Develop collaborative relations with community partners who provide, or might provide, programs involving Jewish Life and Learning.
Research needs and opportunities in the Jewish life and learning landscape; engage in long-term planning to meet these needs.
Work with Jewish Federation’s Israel Representative to identify potential grantees in Israel and overseas.
Partner with Financial Resource Development department to identify fundraising priorities and assist with solicitations, as needed.
Manage the allocation of Jewish Federation funding to partner organizations in the Jewish Life and Learning area.
Establish timely and substantive dialogues between Jewish Federation professionals and community partners to enhance partner agencies’ performance and evaluate their programs.
Work with agencies and Jewish Federation research staff to monitor, record, analyze and report on activities, trends, results and recommendations relating to internal and external programs and their impact.
Research and share trends and opportunities in Jewish Life and Learning.

Quantitative skills and computer proficiency in Word and Excel.
