A documentary exploring the dichotomy of a nation governed by Orthodox civil law, yet hosts the world’s biggest gay pride festival. In daily life, two different worlds exist shoulder to shoulder. The film makers take an extraordinary journey into Israel’s bohemian side, and into the social revolution that challenges the foundations of the Jewish state. The charge of “pinkwashing” is explored–the claim that Israel promotes it’s LGBTQIA community as cynical means of detracting from the conflict with the Palestinians. The film unveils the struggles with the LGBTQIA community and offers varied diverse picture of Israel’s LGBTQIA movement as it is today.
