Mark Halawa was born and raised in Kuwait to an Arab Muslim family of Palestinian background. In 2004, he was shocked to discover that his maternal Grandma Rowaida was Jewish and that Jewish law considered him a Jew, effectively making Mark the very enemy he grew up to hate.
Mark’s curiosity led him to start learning about Judaism and he has since made Israel his home. Hear his riveting life story and gain insight into the mindset of Arab youth today. Learn how through his personal journey, he has become an outspoken voice for understanding and tolerance in the face of oppression and anti-Semitism.
