Actor’s Playground Theatre proudly presents The Chosen by Aaron Posner and Chaim Potok! Come see this timeless tale of friendship, fatherhood, and faith as it makes its triumphant return to the City of Brotherly Love. Based on the classic novel by Philly’s own Chaim Potok, the stage adaptation brings to life the story of two boys from very different backgrounds who forge an unlikely friendship in 1940s Brooklyn. The Chosen premiered at the Arden Theatre in 1998 and will now play in the stunning ambiance of the sanctuary at Temple Beth Zion Beth Israel at 300 S 18th Street. While this production will  commemorate 75 years since the liberation of Auschwitz, it reminds us just how pertinent these themes are today. Performances will run February 2nd at 2:30, February 3rd at 6:30 and February 5th at 6:30. Following in our belief that theatre should be seen by as many people as possible, tickets are pay-what-you-decide and are available at the door.
