Since the Krakow JCC’s opening in 2008, Jonathan, a native New Yorker, has worked to rebuild Jewish life in Krakow. JCC Krakow, at the vanguard of Poland’s Jewish rebirth, now boasts over 750 Jewish members and welcomes 10,000 visitors a month. For many Jews, Krakow, an hour’s drive from Auschwitz, represents the darkest period of Jewish history. Jonathan has shifted the narrative by building a hopeful, pluralistic community of Holocaust survivors as well as their children and grandchildren, many of whom are only finding out now about their Jewish identities. Come listen to Jonathan’s incredible story and be inspired by bothe story of Krakow and the Ride for the Living, an annual 60 mile bike ride from the darkness of Auschwitz to the light of the JCC Krakow.
This gathering will be in a private home in Rittenhouse Square. For details and to RSVP, email Gepstein1@gmail.com.
