The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia strongly condemns hate speech in our community and throughout the world. When anti-Semitic hate speech was expressed by Temple University Professor Marc Lamont Hill, we immediately took action with national and local partners. We have and will continue to condemn comments that reject the state of Israel and the Jewish connection to our homeland.

Israel Independence Day
When Israel has a birthday, Jews in Greater Philadelphia party all month long.

Join friends from your neighborhood or visit other parts of the city to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day, at events throughout the region. Celebrate Israel’s culture, art, food, music and more.

And just wait until next year, when we’ll be celebrating a huge milestone—the 70th anniversary of the birth of the Jewish State—all year long. Plan to join us for an exciting range of events, from theater and film to food and text study, from a mural project to a flash dance mob. We’ll be gathering Israel stories from across our communities. Stay tuned for all the details.
