5-6-70 Israel! Frequently Asked Questions

What time is 5-6-70 Israel?

From 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. 5-6-70 Israel! will fill the Event Center at Valley Forge Casino Resort with delicious kosher and vegetarian food, live music and festivities for the whole family.

But there’s more! At 7:00 p.m. our partner, Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El caps off the day with Israeli singer-songwriter, David Broza, in an Israel birthday concert like none other.

How much are tickets?

5-6-70 Israel! is free. Tickets for the David Broza concert are $36 for adults and $18 for youth/students, and can be purchased here.

Will food be available?

There will be lots of vegetarian and kosher food available for purchase. Kashrut certification will be posted for each kosher provider.

How can I get there?

It is an easy drive to the Event Center at Valley Forge Casino Resort and parking is plentiful. The 125 bus also has a stop at the Event Center.

A bus is also available from KleinLife: 10100 Jamison Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19116. To make a reservation and for information contact Sue Aistrop at 215.698.7300, ext 110.

You can also use our exclusive Lyft code “Israel70philly” to save $20 on each ride to/from 5-6-70 Israel!

Where should I park?

Parking is free and unlimited at the Event Center at the Valley Forge Casino Resort. For easy access, we encourage you to enter the property from the North Gulph Road entrance. Take a left onto the interior road, and parking is available in the lots just ahead. See below for a map to suggested parking areas.

Will seating be available?

There will be plenty of seating in front of the main stage, the food court and the film shorts screening tent. 5-6-70 Israel! is handicap accessible and extremely stroller friendly, with a designated area for parking your stroller.

What activities will there be for children?

There will be so much for children! We encourage you to bring your kids to play in our designated Children’s Area with Israeli toys, cavort on our Gaga courts or enjoy a performance at our special Children’s Stage.

What activities will there be for teens?

Teens are invited to participate in our craft station, discover the Negev through all five senses in the Negev Tent, take and send selfies with an Israeli twist, view cool Israeli videos (some curated by fellow teens), compete on the Gaga Courts and of course, dance up a storm to Capaim. And for those teens who would like to lend a hand, we’d love to have you sign up to volunteer.

What activities will there be for adults?

Adults will find a plethora of ways to celebrate: cooking demos, wine and olive oil tastings, Israeli dancing, short Israeli films, an Israeli marine science exhibits, vendors offering fine crafts and Judaica, and local music. You’re sure to find yourself dancing to the popular Israeli cover band Capaim, who will play all of your favorite Israeli hits. We’re looking forward to the whole communities’ participation in our short ceremony to honor Israel’s 70 years of incredible achievements, and if you’ve taken part in one of our missions, we’ll have a special time allotted to meeting up with other alumni.

What safety precautions will be in place?

Nothing is more critical than the safety and security of our employees at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and their guests at sponsored events. Our security strategy is one of awareness, information sharing, assessment and planning, and close communication with Federal and local law enforcement.

As the planning effort for 5-6-70 Israel! continues, please be assured that the security professionals from the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia are working closely with the Valley Forge Casino Security Department and the Upper Merion Police Department in order to develop a comprehensive safety and security plan for the event.

Do I need to preregister?

To avoid the lines, we recommend preregistering here. If you choose not to preregister, please bring your photo ID to 5-6-70 Israel!

What should I bring?

Bring your ID for security purposes, a little cash for the food court and leave the rest up to us!

How can I get involved?
