The 2018 hurricane season is well underway. The most recent storm, Hurricane Michael, left parts of the Florida Panhandle in ruins, with at least five people dead and 1.1 million without power.

For Israel70, we’re cooking up a can’t-miss event featuring Abington-born celebrity kosher chef Jamie Geller! This bestselling author and TODAY show regular is the founder and CEO of Kosher Network International, the publisher of JOYofKOSHER.com — and is returning to her hometown for an important fundraiser. Join Jamie on March 18th at Old York Road Temple-Beth Am in Abington to hear her story, learn some new Passover recipes, and at the same time support Old York Road Kehillah’s ambulance campaign for American Friends of Magen David Adom. For tickets, click here.

And for a delicious, healthy meal, try Jamie Geller’s Israeli Vegan Power Bowl — a burst of color and flavor, warmed with North African spice and topped with tahini. For the recipe, click here. B’te-avon (bon appétit)!

  1. Folks should know that this event will also include a silent auction to support the Kehillah of Old York Road’s campaign to donate a fully equipped ambulance to Magen David Adom. The auction will feature an African safari, accomodations in Yerushalayim and artwork by Mordechai Rosenstein, amongst other items.
