The traditional meal for Shavuot, when we celebrate having received the Torah, involves eating lots of dairy. Some say it’s because the Israelites at Sinai were innocent as newborns and were nourished by Torah just as milk nourishes babies. Some say eating a dairy meal is a tribute to the phrase “the land of milk and honey.”
