Two candidates fighting tooth-and-nail in a closely contested race to represent Bucks and part of Montgomery County in Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District finally met publicly face-to-face Sunday night in Newtown Township.

Republican incumbent Brian Fitzpatrick and Democratic challenger Scott Wallace shared a stage for the first time at Shir Ami synagogue, trading barbs and defending their records and agendas for about 90 minutes before more than 200 people watching the district’s first debate of the 2018 general election.
