In light of the news of SNAP benefits running out on Nov. 1, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s Mitzvah Food Program is working urgently to ensure people in need have access to the basic human right of food. The Mitzvah Food Program has been working for nearly 30 years to provide nutritious food to people in need, regardless of race, religion, or background. This week alone, more than 70 new families have applied for help. With fewer resources available, we need the community’s help to keep shelves stocked and families fed. Whether donating food, volunteering, or spreading awareness, any effort makes a difference in this critical moment.
