WHAT IS LION’S LEAP?

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Lion of Judah, Women’s Philanthropy is proud to announce Lion’s Leap, a new initiative to inspire and empower women who give to the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s Annual Campaign.

Lions of Judah are a proud pride of women who share a commitment to philanthropic values in our Jewish community. By making an annual gift of $5,000 or more to the Jewish Federation, Lions demonstrate their dedication to helping those in need and ensuring a vibrant Jewish future.

HOW TO TAKE THE LEAP

There are three ways for you to take the leap:

Leap to Lion

Become a Lion of Judah by making a donation of $5,000 or committing to a gift of $5,000 within three years.

ABOUT THE 3 YEAR STEP UP PLAN

The three-year Lion commitment allows you to step up to a pledge of $5,000 (or more) annually, and get all the benefits of being a Lion right away. By making a gift of at least $1,800 today (2022 Campaign), committing to an increase next year (2023 Campaign) and committing to a gift of at least $5,000 in three years (2024 Campaign), you join the Pride as a Lion of Judah, effective immediately.

Leap from your current Lion gift

Increase your current Lion gift by at least 20% or leap to a higher Lion of Judah level.

Take the Leap today by clicking here.

Establish a Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE) Fund

Direct at least $100,000 in securities, cash, retirement funds, or a life insurance policy to go to the Jewish Community Fund after your lifetime. In creating a LOJE, you establish a lasting legacy, demonstrate your values, and support the community with a Lion gift for endless future generations.

To Take the Leap by establishing a LOJE, please contact Jennifer Brier, Director of Planned Giving and Endowments, at jbrier@jewishphilly.org or 215.832.0528.

Citizenship and Family Reunification Services through Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) Pennsylvania.

HIAS Pennsylvania supports low-income immigrants of all backgrounds as they build new lives in our community. Through immigration legal services and an array of social services, HIAS Pennsylvania works to address their needs, defend their rights, and advocate for their equitable inclusion in American society.

Increasing Employability and Skill Training for at-risk women and girls in Israel through the Gumat Chen boarding school.

Gumat Chen is a therapeutic boarding school for 45 girls, ages 14-18, from different areas throughout Israel who have experienced severe trauma, due to violence, neglect and sexual assault. For 20 years, Gumat Chen has provided lifesaving holistic care and education. In 2019 the Ministry of Education honored them with an award for their outstanding excellence in education and therapeutic treatment.

Additional dollars will be directed to our Jewish Community Fund to help the vital work the Jewish Federation does each and every day for our Jewish communities in Greater Philadelphia and around the world.

WITH GRATITUDE

Lion’s Leap participants will be recognized in print at the Annual Lion of Judah Event following the campaign, in subsequent Lion communications and in the Jewish Exponent.

Leapers will be invited to join us for an exclusive local mini mission after the conclusion of the campaign, including a celebratory lunch. You will have the opportunity to upgrade or purchase your Lion of Judah pin at that time.
