We stand at a critical juncture in the fight against hate. In the wake of the horrific Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel on Oct. 7, we’ve witnessed a disturbing surge in antisemitic incidents across the globe, and tragically, right here at home. Tensions have escalated to a breaking point, with anti-Israel demonstrations occurring nationwide, particularly on college campuses, many of which include explicit calls for violence against Jewish students and the use of antisemitic rhetoric. The key to combating this rising tide of antisemitism lies in clearly and accurately defining it.
It is time for Congress to act by passing the Antisemitism Awareness Act to address this urgent issue.
This bill will solidify the policy established by the previous three administrations and utilizes the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism, providing concrete examples of what constitutes antisemitism so that we can distinguish between legitimate criticism of Israeli policies and hateful attacks targeting Jewish people. The IHRA definition gives the Department of Education the tools it needs to determine when conduct is motivated by antisemitic bias. It provides a comprehensive and internationally recognized framework. This definition includes, but is not limited to, traditional anti-Jewish hatred and Holocaust denial, as well as modern forms of antisemitism that target Jewish Americans due to their association with or connection to the State of Israel. We kindly ask you to reach out to your representative TODAY and urge them to support the quick passage of the Antisemitism Awareness Act.
Please fill out this Action Alert to let your representative know that a vote for this bill is a vote for the Jewish community, a vote for Jewish students, and a vote against antisemitism. Together, we can ensure bipartisan support and pass this critical legislation.
H.R. 3565, the “Block the Bombs Act”, undermines Israel’s security and weakens America’s most important strategic alliance in the Middle East. Please fill out this Action Alert and tell your Representative: Do not co-sponsor this bill.
The Fallen Servicemembers Religious Heritage Restoration Act (S.1318) directs the American Battle Monuments Commission to identify and correct the grave markers of American-Jewish servicemembers who were mistakenly buried under Latin Crosses in overseas military cemeteries during World War I and World War II.
The bill, which authorizes $500,000 annually for five years to support this work in partnership with qualified nonprofit organizations, recently passed the House of Representatives with overwhelming bipartisan support. It now awaits passage in the Senate.
Please fill out this Action Alert to urge your Senators to vote in favor of this important legislation and send it to the President’s desk to ensure our fallen heroes are remembered with dignity and accuracy.
We are witnessing a devastating rise in antisemitic violence across the country, from firebombs in Colorado, to murder in Washington, DC, to arson in Pennsylvania. These violent acts are not isolated incidents; rather, they are acts of domestic terrorism that put our communities at risk every day.
Urge Congress to meet this growing challenge by adopting the Jewish Community’s Six-Point Policy on Security, supported by 46 Jewish organizations from across the political spectrum, which seeks additional funding for security infrastructure, security personnel, federal and local law enforcement, and actions to address the surge in online antisemitism. These measures are essential to ensuring Jewish Americans can gather, worship, and live without fear.
There are still 50 hostages in Gaza; Elderly men and women, fathers, young women, disabled, and chronically ill.
According to testimonials from released captives, the hostages are kept without medication, are food-deprived, have no access to showers, are forced to watch horrific documentation of the Oct. 7 massacre repeatedly and are constantly assaulted by their captors.
Every second that passes could be their last, which is why we urge you to join the One Minute a Day initiative and make a quick call to your elected representatives each day demanding the immediate release of all the hostages in Gaza.
Every call you make to your elected officials, whether you speak to someone or leave a message, is tallied by a congressional aide. Every call counts. Together, we will bring the hostages home.

#EndTheSilence
Hadassah has been a voice for action for months, and now they’re asking their supporters to be part of End The Silence, Hadassah’s global campaign to speak out, raise awareness and demand justice. The Jewish Federation is proud to partner on this campaign.
As part of the campaign, Hadassah will send petitions to UN Secretary-General António Guterres from grassroots activists around the world, amplifying our calls for the UN to speak out about these war crimes, pursue an independent, trauma-informed, unbiased investigation and seek justice for the victims.
Hadassah has launched #EndTheSilence on social media. Please share Hadassah posts and stay tuned for more details on how to be involved in this critical effort to end the silence, hold Hamas accountable and show the world that rape and sexual violence must never be used as a weapon of war. Not in Israel. Not in Gaza. Not in Ukraine, Ethiopia, Rwanda or Bosnia. Not anywhere.
In the meantime, visit the End The Silence website, sign the petition, share the link with family and friends, and keep checking back for updates on the campaign, videos, resources, and more.
Urge Representatives to Believe Women
We must continue to reaffirm our belief in women — as highlighted in the Jewish Federation’s official statement . And we must also be their voice — for the many victims who were murdered, some mid-rape, and for the remaining 19 female hostages silenced under tunnels who we fear continue to be violated and may be pregnant.
Contact your representative to call for the immediate release of all 19 Israeli women that are still being held hostage in Gaza. And all hostages for that matter.
You can find your elected official by clicking here.
Find the university with which you are affiliated and email the administration to urge them to take action to protect the safety and wellbeing of Jewish students on campus. Learn more with our partners at ADL here.
American Jewish Committee (AJC) Philadelphia/Southern NJ region is partnering with H&G Signs to create double-sided coroplast lawn signs to raise awareness about the hostages being held by Hamas terrorists in Gaza. The signs are 24″W x 18″H and come with a lawn stake for easy installation in your yard (or can be used in a window, etc. without the stand). If you wish to order signs, you can do so by filling out this link. Thank you for being a part of this important advocacy effort to bring all the hostages home. Only by making thousands of direct, urgent and repeated appeals to your elected representatives can actionable pressure be placed on the U.S. government to prioritize the return all 240 hostages to their loved ones.
If we all reach out to our elected officials—now and constantly—we stand a much better, realistic chance of ensuring that the return all 240 hostages continues to remain a top U.S. and global priority. To learn more, click here.

The amount of information against Israel can feel overwhelming. However, it has been proven that much of the most inflammatory content on the Internet is not human-generated and does not necessarily represent public opinion. Right now, disinformation about Israel and Hamas is spreading on social media. These are tactics of the war against Israel’s legitimacy, are methods of dehumanizing the Jewish people, and are part of broader efforts to sow divisions in our society.
As the situation progresses and our emotions run high, it can be tempting to immediately comment on and/or share what we see online. But now, more than ever, it’s important for us to take the time to carefully assess what we’re reading and respond thoughtfully.
