Sunday December 2, 2018– First Candle

 

Chester County Chanukah Celebration
Join us on Sunday evening, December 2, 2018 at 5:00pm on the steps of the Historic Courthouse in West Chester, 10 North High Street, for the community Menorah lighting and celebration of the first night of Chanukah. Live entertainment in the presence of Chester County Officials, dignitaries, and community leaders. Chanukah music, doughnuts, dreidels, Chanukah Gelt and hot cider.

Monday December 3, 2018—Second Candle

 

City of Philadelphia Chanukah Celebration
Fairmount Fish Ladder on Martin Luther King Drive (between Eakins Oval and Sweet Briar Drive) across from Boathouse Row at 6:00 p.m.
The City of Philadelphia will celebrate the holiday season by illuminating Boathouse Row in festive colors for the remainder of 2018. In the spirit of inclusiveness and to highlight the diversity of the city, the lights will celebrate Chanukah, Christmas and Kwanzaa.

Chanukah Game Night
7th Dimension Games, 491 Old York Road, Jenkintown at 6:15 p.m. Dreidel spinning contest, games and snacks with Rabbi Reuven Goldstein (Young Israel of Elkins Park) and BBYO Youth Leaders. Attendance is limited to the first 40 RSVPs.

Tuesday December 4, 2018—Third Candle

 

Chanukah Candle Lighting with the Center City Kehillah
The Center City Kehillah invites the entire community to celebrate the 3rd night of Chanukah together in Rittenhouse Square at 5:15 p.m! Join friends, neighbors, and representatives from 30 Jewish organizations for candle lighting, holiday treats, raffle prizes, and celebrating with your Jewish community, along with celebratory music with Rabbi Shawn Zevit and Ami Yares. Rabbi Jill Maderer (Congregation Rodeph Shalom) and Rabbi Yochonon Goldman (B’nai Abraham Chabad) will share brief remarks and lead the candle lighting. Please consider bringing new or gently used children’s books to donate to Mighty Writers, especially picture books and graphic novels!

Wednesday December 5, 2018—Fourth Candle

 

Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel’s Community Chanukah Party

This year’s Chanukah “Festival of Light” will open at 5:30 p.m. with a big community celebration that includes fried food, live music, candle lighting and more! The dinner will be followed by a dazzling Festival of (Laser) Light show that brings the Chanukah story and philosophy to life for all ages. This deLIGHTful laser show by WONDERGY is a breathtaking extravaganza of lasers, lights, Chanukah, and science!
Our Chanukah party is open to the whole community – bring your friends!
This event is generously co-sponsored by the Youth & Family PTA, the Early Childhood PTA, the Sisterhood of BZBI, and JCC Camps @ Medford.

 

Kehillah of Old York Road Grand Menorah Lighting
Jenkintown Square, Jenkintown, PA at 6:45 p.m.  Grand menorah lighting, music, treats and warm drinks, sponsored by Rabbi Zushe Gurevitz (Chabad Lubavitch Jewish Center). Also joining is Rabbi Binyomin Davis (Etz Chaim) and Hazzan Howard Glantz (Adath Jeshurun).


Thursday December 6, 2018—Fifth Candle

 

Chanukah Candle Lighting at Narberth Train Station with Kehillah of Lower Merion

Meet at circle in front of Narberth Train Station (211 Elmwood Avenue) at 5:45 p.m.
Join the Kehillah of Lower Merion, a group of synagogues and Jewish organizations across the Main Line, as we gather together as one Jewish community to celebrate Chanukah. The Narberth Havurah’s Menorah, made by their kids in school last year, will light the night, and Chanukah music and the smell of doughnuts will fill the air! We will light the Chanukah lights, sing Chanukah songs led by the clergy of KLM and enjoy sufganiot.  Free and open to the community.

Chanukah Celebration at the Elmwood Park Zoo

Join us as we celebrate Chanukah at Elmwood Park Zoo! The fun begins at 2:00 p.m. at the Trail of the Jaguar exhibit, where guests can make themed crafts and play games! Join us at 3:00 p.m. on the Eagles Deck as we listen to the Temple Brith Achim Choir perform, followed by lighting the menorah. This event is free to attend with zoo admission.
