Observe Yom HaShoah with the Jewish Federation in 2022:
April 24, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Click here for more information about the live stream.

This program is hosted in partnership with the Philadelphia Holocaust Remembrance Foundation, Association of Jewish Holocaust Survivors of Philadelphia and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. Come together in person (or watch the livestream on Facebook) for the 58th Annual Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony to commemorate the six million Jews who perished in the Shoah and to honor the survivors living in our communities. The ceremony will include candle lighting, music, readings and prayers.

With so much unrest in the world, bringing together our community for this annual memorial is more important than ever. Let us never forget.

ARCHIVE OF OUR 2021 EVENT

Click here to watch the recording of the 2021 Holocaust Memorial Virtual Ceremony, featuring Zalmen Mlotek and Steven Skybell of National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (from the revival of Fiddler on the Roof) and our Israeli Partnership2Gether community; reflections from Holocaust survivors, local politicians and community members; and prayers and music.

This past year was especially difficult for Holocaust survivors as they aged and dealt with isolation during the pandemic. Bringing together our community for this annual memorial was more important than ever.

The ceremony included Zikaron BaSalon (Hebrew for “memories in the living room”). Discussions were held around the following topics: 3GPhilly, Preserving the legacies and the lessons of the Holocaust; Nothing Will Break Us: Strength in Times of Crisis; and Rebellious Women: The Stories of Three Brave Women in the Jewish Resistance.
