Philadelphia, PA, May, 1 2025 – In response to the alarming rise in antisemitism, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s Center to Combat Antisemitism has announced that each donation this May will be matched dollar for dollar.

The campaign, titled Greater Than Hate, is being led by Jessica and Jason Morgan and Leah and Jason Morganroth, young philanthropic leaders of the Philadelphia Jewish community. Concerned about the rise and spread of hate both nationally and locally, the Morgan and Morganroth families took action to initiate this match, leading by example with significant pledges of their own. They also inspired their friends to join them in making a meaningful difference.

“We chose to support the Center to Combat Antisemitism because we believe this moment in history demands meaningful action,” said Jessica and Jason Morgan. “In the wake of Oct. 7, we felt a deep responsibility to stand up as leaders in the Jewish community and help shape a stronger, safer world for generations of Jews to come. The Center to Combat Antisemitism represents a proactive, multi-faceted approach to confronting antisemitism, particularly in our local community where we are raising our young Jewish children, and we are very proud to rally behind it.

The Center, established in October 2024, addresses antisemitism through enhancing public awareness of antisemitism and equipping individuals with tools to address it, advocating for justice and protecting rights in cases of antisemitic incidents, advocating for policies to safeguard Jewish communities, building solidarity and promoting mutual understanding through allyship, and convening the local community in the collective fight against antisemitism. “Our young family is dedicated to Philadelphia and hopes that our community will prosper for years to come,” said Leah and Jason Morganroth. “The Center to Combat Antisemitism will educate and engage all members of our community to combat hate and stop the spread of antisemitism. We want to inspire other families, especially those with school-age children, to join the cause to make our community a more peaceful place for future generations.”

The funds raised through the match will go towards the Center to Combat Antisemitism’s work to fight back against antisemitism through a focused approach on education, litigation, allyship, and community mobilization. This will include providing antisemitism training for school faculty, creating a community forum to share resources and ideas, organizing an annual symposium on antisemitism, building a database with legal advice for antisemitic-related cases, and fostering interfaith advocacy work with other religious leaders.

“We are profoundly grateful to the Morgan and Morganroth families for stepping forward as next- generation leaders in the fight against antisemitism,” said Jason Holtzman, chief of the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. “Combating antisemitism demands decisive action and unity. With the strength and support of our community, we can push back against this growing threat and protect the future of Jewish life.” To donate to the match today, visit: jewishphilly.org/GreaterThanHate
