ABOUT OUR SPEAKERs
Julie Platt

Julie Platt leads the LiveSecure Initiative and other projects crucial to the flourishing of Jewish life in North America. She is the immediate past chair of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and past chair of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles and the Foundation for Jewish Camp. Last November, President Isaac Herzog awarded Platt with the Israeli Presidential Medal of Honor, Israel’s highest civilian honor.
Prior to serving as board chair at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, Platt served as general campaign chair, chair of their Ensuring the Jewish Future Strategic Initiative and chair of the Federation’s Sylvia Weisz Women’s Philanthropy. She also received the Ruby Award from National Women’s Philanthropy. A graduate of University of Pennsylvania, Platt serves as vice chair of the Board of Trustees and is on Penn Hillel’s National Board of Governors.
Amy Holdsman

Amy Holdsman is the founder and president of Essential Leadership, a leadership coaching and philanthropic advising firm based in Philadelphia. She coaches individuals and families in establishing, expanding, or refining philanthropic vehicles, such as family foundations, and in engaging the next generation in philanthropy.
Holdman is a chartered advisor in philanthropy, a 21/64 certified advisor for multigenerational philanthropy and a professional certified coach. With 30 years of nonprofit leadership experience, she served as the inaugural executive director for the Green Family Foundation and the Maguire Foundation, and spent 11 years as executive director of White-Williams Scholars. She previously worked at Leadership Philadelphia, where she introduced board service concepts to hundreds of executives.
Holdsman earned her Master of Arts degree in Urban Studies from Temple University and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from George Washington University.
