We are reaching out in a moment of extraordinary urgency for the Jewish people.
While we are hopeful the ceasefire will hold, the recent war with Iran has ushered in a dangerous and volatile new chapter. Israeli civilians have endured relentless missile fire. Fifty hostages remain in Hamas captivity. And in the United States, antisemitism is rising at an alarming rate, demanding heightened vigilance and immediate investment in security.
In response, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia has mobilized quickly — approving an emergency $1 million grant to address urgent needs in Israel. We are proud to support critical relief efforts, including:
- Rebuilding Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva, the primary hospital serving all of southern Israel—including Sderot, Netivot and the communities hardest hit by the Oct. 7 attacks—which suffered a direct missile strike
- Providing grants to victims of the Iranian attacks through the Jewish Agency’s Rising Lion Fund
- Offering mental health support and respite programming for children in bomb shelters in Netivot
This is the power of the Jewish Federation: We respond swiftly and strategically in moments of crisis—locally and globally—to protect Jewish life and uphold our shared responsibility.
But we cannot stop here.
To continue meeting this moment — and whatever comes next — we need your support for the 2025 Annual Campaign and Israel Emergency Fund. Both funds are essential: the Annual Campaign strengthens our local Jewish community and supports Israel through our overseas partners, while the Emergency Fund ensures rapid response during crisis. Either way, your gift helps protect and sustain Jewish life in Israel and around the world.
Now is the time to act — with urgency, unity and resolve
