The Jewish community is appalled and outraged to learn of the Antisemitic social media posts of Philadelphia Commerce Director Michael Rashid, and we are equally disturbed by the allegations of his disparaging remarks, derogatory comments, and other Antisemitic actions, as reported this week.

“We value and celebrate our diversity, and we will never tolerate discrimination, hate, or bullying of any kind,” he said. “As mayor, I can assure you that Philadelphia will always be a welcoming city to everyone, no matter what they look like or where they come from or how they worship.”

The Mayor needs to take immediate action. If there is no room in our City for Antisemitism, as Mayor Kenney said, then Mr. Rashid should be removed from office immediately.

We insist that Mayor Kenney do the right thing and remove Mr. Rashid at once.
