The United States and Israel have taken coordinated military action in response to the ongoing and escalating threat posed by the Iranian regime.
This moment follows years of provocation, including Iran’s continued pursuit of nuclear capabilities, support for global terror networks, and refusal to meet international commitments through diplomatic channels. The responsibility for this escalation lies with the Iranian regime.
We recognize that this news may bring a range of emotions, including concern, uncertainty, and for many, a deep personal connection to Israel and the broader region.
At the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, our role in moments like this is clear. We stand with our community. We stand with the people of Israel. We work to ensure our community remains informed, supported and connected.
We are grateful for the efforts of the American and Israeli forces involved, and we remain steadfast in our support of the Israeli people as they face increasing attacks and continued uncertainty. We also hold hope for the Iranian people, who have long endured oppression from a brutal and fanatical government, that a more peaceful and free future may be possible.
We are in close communication with our partners locally, nationally, and in Israel, and we will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves. The safety and security of our community remains our highest priority.
In moments like these, our strength comes from one another. For 125 years, this community has shown up with resilience, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to Jewish life and values.
We will continue to do so now.
Am Yisrael Chai.
