The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is excited to announce that it has been awarded nine Top Workplace Awards, including 2026 Top Workplace. The Top Workplaces program, run by the Philadelphia Inquirer in partnership with research firm Energage, recognizes the best places to work in the Delaware Valley entirely based on anonymous employee feedback.

“We are deeply honored to be recognized as a Philadelphia top workplace,” said Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia President and CEO Michael Balaban. “Our mission is rooted in strengthening Jewish life, supporting those in need, and building a vibrant, inclusive community. None of that would be possible without the dedication, compassion, and talent of our professional team. We remain committed to creating an environment where our staff can grow, thrive, and continue serving our community with excellence.”

The Jewish Federation was recognized in the following Top Workplace categories:

  • Top Workplace 2026: measured by the employee experience and its component themes, including employees feeling Respected & Supported, Enabled to Grow, and Empowered to Execute, to name a few.
  • Compensation & Benefits: This award celebrates the organizations who provide employees not only with material rewards but also with the appreciation for their work.
  • Employee Well-Being: This award celebrates organizations who put the health and wellness of their employees at the center of their workplace culture.
  • Employee Appreciation: This award celebrates organizations who demonstrate gratefulness for the efforts of employees, and that employees reciprocate by being motivated to give their best at work.

  • Leadership: This award celebrates organizations whose leaders inspire confidence in their employees and in the
direction of the company. These leaders understand the needs of customers which front-line employees hear every day.

  • Nonprofit Industry: This award celebrates organizations that prioritize people-first cultures.
  • Professional Development: This award celebrates organizations who focus on developing their employees’ careers and enable them to grow professionally.
  • Purpose & Values: This award celebrates organizations who have both embedded their mission and values into their culture and are efficient in their work to bring it into reality.

  • Work-Life Flexibility: This award celebrates the organizations that provide options to their employees in how and where they work, as well as having managers who care for their employees’ concerns.

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”

“This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the voices of our employees,” said Jewish Federation Chief of Human Resources Melissa Gabillon. “We are committed to fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and belonging where people feel valued and connected to our mission. When employees feel supported, they can do their best work on behalf of our community. We are proud of the culture we have built together and grateful to our team for making the Jewish Federation an exceptional place to work.”

The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia has intentionally worked to build a workplace culture that supports each employee as a whole person, not just a worker. By prioritizing well-being, flexibility, professional growth, and a sense of belonging, the organization recognizes that a positive workplace has an impact far beyond the office. When employees feel valued and supported in their professional lives, it contributes to stronger personal well-being and greater balance outside of work, ultimately strengthening both the organization and the broader community it serves.
