More than 100 young adults partnered with Habitat for Humanity’s Philadelphia chapter to help eight senior citizens in need. Military veteran Harvey Routhenstein was one of the recipients of the volunteers’ hard work. On Sunday, Routhenstein’s home got a much deserved makeover thanks to the Jewish Federation and Habitat for Humanity – in time of the high holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Routhenstein said the team was so good he didn’t even have to get up out of his chair while they worked.
