We need your help purchasing local grocery gift cards for those in need.
Each fall, the Jewish Federation’s Mitzvah Food Program hosts its largest drive of the year to combat hunger.
About the Drive
Community members can buy local grocery store gift cards and drop them off at participating congregations and organizations throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. You can also drop your gift cards off at one of the Mitzvah Food Program’s pantry sites.
You can also purchase foods through our Mitzvah Food Program Amazon Wishlist so that the products are shipped directly to a pantry. Please select “MFP Gift Registry Address” as the shipping address when checking out your order.
How TO PARTICIPATE
A list of participating congregations and organizations will be provided in August 2025.
September – October. Exact dates to come.
We recommend gift cards from ShopRite, Acme and Giant, as these are the stores most easily accessible to our clients. Gift card values up to $50 are the most helpful.
For Participating Congregations and Organizations
Thank you for your interest in participating in the Mitzvah Food Program’s Gift Card Drive. A form will be added to this webpage in August for you to confirm your participation. After submitting the form, a marketing kit will be provided to you so you can promote the drive to your community.
Participating sites will be expected to host a drop off station for community members to give their gift cards.
Once your drive is over, you can deliver the gift cards to one of our pantry sites or request that the Mitzvah Food Program pick up your collection.
