FEATURING: LOAY ALSHAREEF AND DR. CASEY BABB

Linguist, Educator, Advocate for Arab-Israeli Relations

TLoay Alshareef is a linguist and educator based in Abu Dhabi, with a passion for modern and ancient Semitic languages, particularly Arabic, Hebrew, and Syriac. Born and raised in Saudi Arabia with a religious Muslim background, Alshareef was initially exposed to negative views about Jews and Israel. However, his perspective began to shift during his studies in France, where he lived with a Jewish host family. This experience challenged and ultimately transformed his views, inspiring him to actively counter antisemitic disinformation and support initiatives like the Abraham Accords.

Since 2012, Alshareef has been creating and producing educational content on YouTube, focusing on language, history, and cultural understanding. He aims to leverage his deep knowledge of Judeo-Arabic heritage to foster better relations between Arabs and Jews, contributing to a future of mutual respect and cooperation. Alshareef holds a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from Penn State.

Dr. Casey Babb is an internationally recognized public intellectual, best known for his work on matters related to Jewish life, antisemitism, and Israeli national security. He is Director of the Promised Land Project at the Macdonald Laurier Institute in Ottawa, an International Fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, and a Research Fellow with the Max and Tessie Zelikovitz Centre for Jewish Studies at Carleton University.

Casey has been researching, writing, and speaking about these topics for nearly twenty years. His work has been featured in numerous scholarly journals and books throughout Canada, the U.S., and Europe, as well as in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Free Press, The Hill, and many others.
