On Saturday, April 13, the Islamic Republic of Iran launched a devastating attack on Israel, using drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles in a clear escalation of hostilities.

Thankfully, due to the incredible efforts of the IDF, United States armed forces and Israel’s regional partners, 99% of the incoming projectiles were intercepted, saving countless lives. This attack underscores the gravity of the threats Israel faces and the strength of the U.S.-Israel relationship.

The Jewish Federation is urging the Greater Philadelphia community to make your voices heard today. The time to act is now!

Now, we urgently call on the House to advance a supplemental aid package to provide $14.1 billion in crucial support to Israel, including funding for essential defense systems, like the Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow-3. This package must also include additional funding for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to protect communities from antisemitic violence.

Thanks to your advocacy, the Senate has already passed a supplemental aid package with $400 million for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program. Now, it’s crucial for the House to follow suit. Please reach out to your Representatives using this action alert and stress the importance of this funding for the safety of the Jewish community and beyond.

Spread the word, share the action alert, and urge your friends and family to join the cause. Together, we can ensure bipartisan support and pass this vital bill.

Since 1901, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia has served as the hub of the region’s Jewish communities, providing an infrastructure of support for Jewish people and organizations in need. Through grants, emergency funding, restricted gifts, endowments, and our partnership with the Foundation for Jewish Day Schools, we invest more than $61 million each fiscal year to care for those in need, combat antisemitism and global crisis, and strengthen Jewish identity.
