CULTIVATING YOUR LEADERSHIP VOICE

The Jewish Federation offers various leadership development opportunities through its affinity groups: 

The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s Board of Ambassadors is a community of trained leaders who promote the work of the Jewish Federation at Jewish institutions, congregations and beyond. Ambassadors include: Congregational Ambassadors, Community Ambassadors, Federation Mentors and Federation Amplifiers. Minimum gift required: $1,800 or Legacy Society Commitment. The Jewish Federation Community Council is a community of leaders who want to be connected to the work of the Jewish Federation at a high level. The council hears from speakers and educators on significant issues impacting the Greater Philadelphia Jewish community and will be provided with the opportunity to learn together. The JFRE Mentorship Program pairs younger and older members of the Jewish Federation Real Estate (JFRE) group together based on shared interests and backgrounds. It provides members of Young JFRE with a unique opportunity to receive one-on-one guidance from industry executives who can help navigate and enhance their careers in real estate and related industries.


Journeys is a leadership development opportunity through Women’s Philanthropy to learn from top industry professionals, to facilitate connections with like-minded women in the Greater Philadelphia community, and to help enhance leadership skills and knowledge of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.


The Jewish Federation’s Kestenbaum Legacy Philanthropy Program is a cohort-based learning and education forum, focused on family giving dynamics and how to create positive change through philanthropy in the Jewish community and beyond. Each cohort includes participants from multi-generational families with significant philanthropic legacies that bring a diversity of Jewish experiences, affiliation and charitable engagement to the sessions. 


The Jewish Federation supports eight regional Kehillot (neighborhoods in Hebrew) that represent different parts of the Greater Philadelphia region. The Kehillot reflect various Jewish institutions and agencies, host community-wide programs, and connect individuals to Jewish life, each other, and direct service organizations. The Jewish Federation’s Kehillot include: Bucks County, Buxmont, Center City, Chester County, Delaware County, Lower Merion, Northeast and Old York Road.

Each Kehillah has a coalition of lay leaders and professionals that connect regularly to collaborate on community-wide programming, learn from and with each other, and strengthen their Jewish neighborhoods. The National Young Leadership Cabinet cultivates, trains and inspires the most promising young volunteers for positions of leadership in the Jewish community. This is a five-year program includes an annual minimum donation of $5,000.


The Pathway Fellowship is a cohort-based experience for 15 to 20 rising leaders in their 20s and 30s, who want to learn about the issues facing our Jewish Community and the role the Jewish Federation plays in meeting those needs. Led by NextGen, this opportunity was formerly known as the Leadership Development Program (LDP).


The Professional Advisors Network comprises industry experts in estate planning, insurance, accounting, financial advising, wealth management and allied professions. The network is an initiative of the Jewish Community Foundation, a branch of the Jewish Federation. To learn more, click here


This two-year educational experience for Jewish leaders focuses on Jewish learning and leadership training. Through this program, participants will deepen their Jewish knowledge and confidence and be inspired to exercise transformative leadership in the Jewish community.
